The Golden
Hour Doula

Yara Trevizo

Hello there! I am so happy you're here.  My name is Yara and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula, a wife, and a mama to the funniest and sweetest three year old.  Born in Mexico, and raised here in Colorado, I recently returned home with my family and our four beloved dogs after several years in San Antonio, where we ran a dog training business together.  My passion for postpartum care began after my own transformative journey into motherhood, and I'm dedicated to helping families feel nurtured, confident, and supported in those tender early weeks.  As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I hold a special place in my heart for supporting other queer families, but I am especially grateful for families who value kindness, respect and inclusion.

Behind The Work...

I truly believe that babies are born knowing what they need and that parents are born knowing how to love and care for them. In a world that often overcomplicates early parenthood, my approach is to return to the heart of it all: Intuition, connection, and trust.  I follow a baby-led rhythm, honoring each child's natural cues for sleep, feeding and comfort.  I hold space for parents to quiet the noise, to breathe, and to remember that they already carry the wisdom their baby needs to thrive.  There is such a beautiful simplicity in those early days; a rhythm that unfolds when we stop striving for perfection and give ourselves grace.  My role is to simply nurture that grace, cheer you on, and offer gentle guidance along with education so that your family can settle into this tender, instinctive season with ease.

Postpartum Reflections

"From our first interaction Yara was an excellent communicator - clear, responsive, and attentive to our needs. She focused on maximizing our sleep while ensuring our daughter was cared for with such gentleness and expertise. She also quietly tidied up our home, leaving everything cleaner and more organized than when she arrived. It made such a difference to wake up well-rested to a calm, refreshed space. Her presence, professionalism, and genuine care gave us total peace of mind while she was with us. We can’t recommend Yara highly enough- she’s the best!"

The Akin Family

"Yara helped us so much on our journey! She was very flexible (especially since baby came two weeks early!). From arrival to the hospital, in the middle of the night, prepping meals, and helping prepare space for our growing family. I felt so much support through her mentally and physically, because she was so welcoming and comforting. She knew exactly what I needed or may want and made the experience that much easier!"

The Mendiola-Alvarez Family

"When we started working with Yara, we knew that we would be able to benefit from her experience and expertise with newborns, and we were pleasantly surprised by the level of emotional care and friendship that we receive from her as well. Yara has been absolutely amazing with our newborn. We appreciate Yara's genuine care for her and how excited she always is to see our baby, the advice she gives us to help our baby start sleeping longer stretches in the night (it's working!!), and her detailed notes on how the night went in the morning. We also love chatting with Yara when she first arrives in the evening and have a developed a true friendship with her. Yara's so easy to talk to, which was especially nice during middle of the night nursing sessions, after hard days with our baby, and to just talk about everything in general. Her warmth makes it so easy to have her in our home and seamlessly create a routine.

Other standout mentions include talking about breastpump options, SIDS concerns, and meeting our reactive fur baby before our daughter was born. We were worried about how our dog would be with someone moving around the house in the middle of the night, but he never made a peep from the very beginning and now brings a toy to the door every time Yara arrives. We're so lucky to have had Yara's support as first time parents -- it truly takes a village, and we're so happy that Yara's part of ours."
